Get ready to chop, stir, and savor your way through the basics of great home cooking! In this hands-on course designed for teens, students will focus on the essential skills every young cook needs to feel confident in the kitchen. Students will learn how to read and follow recipes, double or halve ingredient amounts, and prepare delicious meals the whole family will enjoy. Each week, we’ll focus on classic comfort foods—think soups, pasta dishes, and homemade baked goods—while highlighting seasonal ingredients and produce from the garden. Along the way, students will explore how to plan meals, prep ingredients efficiently, and cook with care and creativity. By the end of the course, teens will be equipped to make wholesome, crowd-pleasing meals and contribute meaningfully to family dinners—maybe even take over a night of the week!
