1st/2nd Kitchen Confidence (Cooking)

This course is designed for our 1st and 2nd grade students who are ready to expand their kitchen capabilities. With an emphasis on safe food handling, recipe reading, and group and independent preparation, students will gain confidence working with a variety of tools, ingredients, and techniques. Weekly lessons will include seasonal recipes, kitchen math, basic knife skills, table setting, and clean-up. Students will explore diverse ingredients and learn about nutrition, food sourcing, and the cultural origins of certain dishes. The course blends practical life skills with creative exploration, preparing students to be thoughtful, capable, and independent in the kitchen. Note: All recipes are adaptable for allergies and sensitivities
